President’s Report November 2019

Prepared by Maree Armansin

On Saturday 19 October 2019 the final AGM for QCA was held. As we move into the transition phase of becoming PACFA QLD the significance of this meeting and the massive work undertaken by all past committees and members was acknowledged. new committee was formed to take us through to June 2020. The members are Maree Armansin, Karol Misso, Clair Byrne, Julie EvansBrett JonesKevin Glasheen.

Three motions were put to the meeting. All were carried.

Motion 1: QCA to adopt the PACFA code of ethics from 1/12/19 and to give PACFA jurisdiction to hear any matters if they occur after the transition period begins.

Motion 2: The association will cease trading as Queensland Counsellors Association Inc. as of 30 June 2020.

Motion 3: QCA surplus funds to be dispersed to PACFA on 30 June 2020 with guidelines for the use of these funds.

The final agenda item was a discussion as to how we will celebrate the history and all those who have gone before us as we move into our new Chapter. It was decided that we should have a day that includes some PD as well as a celebration for all and hopefully, we can locate as many past committee members as possible to share the history of the organisation. A committee has been set up to plan this event. Watch this space as it is likely to be a Saturday in May 2020.  A date claimer will come out shortly.
