President’s Report August 2018
Prepared by Anna-Maree Osborne, President QCA
I would like to welcome Claire Nulty, Kate Northall and Carly Kelly-Fairweather to casual vacancies as members of the committee. Committee member Julie Evans has agreed to fill the Vice President role until the AGM. I will not be standing for re-election at the AGM but of course will be available to consult with the new committee and members in the future.
Kevin Glasheen, our Secretary and I will attend the PACFA Melbourne Council Conference on 6 October in Melbourne and look forward to updating you on the progress PACFA has made in their lobbying efforts. We have also secured RA at Spring Hill for our QCA AGM on 20 October and would welcome your attendance.
We intend to forward a survey to members soon to gain information about which QCA members possess Bachelor or higher degrees (due to PACFAs new standards) and how many members wish to join PACFA as a Branch / how many wish QCA to remain independent as an MA of PACFA (as we currently are). We are also reviewing our own membership categories to allow wider membership levels.
I also would like to encourage eligible Supervisors to consider conducting group supervision via skype or zoom to enable access to cheaper supervision for our members as I know this is a challenge for many counsellors.
