Presenter: Alan Richardson
The impact of Trauma, Abuse and Neglect has profound and serious impact upon the individual. We are starting to understand the Neurobiology of this impact and the difference in what aids the individual to be able to experience psychological growth and resilience instead of feeling overwhelmed and alone within their reduced world.
People in PTSD create a safer, smaller world in order to cope and while this is meant to be a short term survival strategy, the neuro functioning of our limbic system reinforces this short term approach.
This workshop will outline the PTSD experience and intervention aimed at mobilizing growth and resilience from the what is a powerful and threatening trauma impact.
